Q: Will there be a squash pro?

A: We will not be hiring a squash pro. We will have a small squash committee of members headed by Andrew Phillips that will organize a few activities.

Q: How do I reserve time on the new indoor turf and dry-pad arena (rink)?

A: Each of these facilities is available for rental. Rates and information on booking these facilities are available by contacting our rentals department by email at: rentals@leclubwestisland.com or by phone: (514) 695-8851.

Q: Will you be improving the locker rooms anytime soon?

A: We will be making some cosmetic improvements to our locker room facilities. We plan to paint and repair some minor items until we can finalize some longer-term investments into these spaces. We are also looking at eventually purchasing some new lockers and replacing the existing older metal ones.

Q: What makes your “Group Fitness” schedule different from other health clubs?

A: We see our group fitness program as the evolution of group fitness, where the classes are focused on functional fitness and moving beyond the typical class routine. Our classes are innovative, creative, and fun. The program is designed to help you become stronger, more agile, and flexible – allowing every participant to enhance performances in their favourite sport or even in their day-to-day activities.

Q: Will you be adding more fitness classes to the schedule?

A: Yes, we are introducing a wide variety of new programming and as classes reach capacity we would be delighted to increase our class offering.

Q: Do I have to sign up for classes?

A: Yes, all participants are required to sign-up for all group classes. You may reserve your spot by calling Reception (514) 695-8851, or simply provide us with your email address and we will create a profile to enable you to sign up online at your own convenience. Some classes are also available to non-members on a sessional basis.

Q: How far in advance can I sign-up for classes?

A: You may register for any class two days in advance starting at 6:30 a.m. on weekdays & 7:30 a.m. on weekends.

Q: What will happen to my membership rate?

A: We have performed a thorough competitive analysis of all the other fitness clubs on the West-Island and we feel that our new rates are very competitive compared to other facilities. Q: Are these the only membership types you have available?

A:We have shown the most popular membership types and prices. But we have a variety of different packages to suit your circumstances including special rates for our junior members, off peak packages and over 55 memberships. Please ask your membership team for more details.

Q: Do I need to bring anything with me when I join?

A: 
We’ll need proof of identity (driver’s licence or medicare card) and proof of your banking details (a void cheque, bank statement or electronic pay slip). If you’re a corporate member, please bring some corporate I.D. as well.

Q: What should I wear to the fitness centre?

A: 
Wear light, comfortable clothing that’s breathable and allows you to move freely. Please ensure that your choice of clothing doesn’t make other members feel uncomfortable. Members cannot work out topless and closed-toe shoes (cross trainers or running shoes) must be worn in the gym at all times.

Q: Are there any costs other than the membership fee?

A: There are no hidden fees and flexible membership options to suit everyones needs. We also have discounts for family and corporate members. Our Membership Team will be happy to assist you with your inquiries. Other than that, the only other costs are for additional services such as personal training, specialty classes, guest passes, towel and locker service.

Q: Will there be any support to help me get started?

A: 
Of course! We offer as much or as little support as our members need. All new members are entitled to a free consulation, which gives you one-hour of expert fitness advice – and you’ll walk away with a personalised training plan.
