Metabolic Madness Begins May 23rd at 12:15 pm

This 55-minute calorie-scorching class is designed to increase metabolism and improve energy levels.

Metabolic Madness will change your body like nothing ever has before!  This small-group personal training class will focus on power, speed, agility, strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination using hundreds of fun and innovative exercises. These exercises are performed at a high degree of intensity with very little rest. The intensity of the workout is high enough to create “metabolic disturbances” that last several hours… if not days!

What’s more, is you will have the guidance of Louise Malone, an experienced Certified Personal Trainer who will motivate you and show you several modifications whatever your level of fitness may be.  If you are new to exercise, Louise will help you progress in a safe way – if you are a fitness fanatic, she’ll know how to push you to your limits!

Don’t miss this opportunity to jump-start your Summer fitness goals! Join-us for our brand new 55-minute Metabolic Madness workouts in the Performance Studio on Wednesdays at 12:15 pm.  Only 6-spaces available, drop-by the Reception and register for your spot today.

Flavonoids and the Risk of Diabetes

New research shows that anthocyanin consumption may be associated with a decreased risk of type-2 diabetes.

Flavonoids are found in plants and serve as pigments to help attract pollinators, filter out UV light, help in nitrogen fixation, and several other roles. An important class of flavonoids is anthocyanins. Anthocyanins are powerful antioxidants and can be found in blueberries, bilberries, raspberries, grapes, and many other plants. How to Help Your Personal Trainer

By Carole Cousineau

You can help your trainer do a better job by being a good client:

  • Focus on what you are doing and try not to spend too much of your session talking;
  • Be prepared by eating before your workout, bringing your own towel and a full water bottle;
  • Give at least 24 hour notice if you need to cancel or reschedule;
  • If you have questions, write them down and bring them to your session-you’ll spend less time talking and more time working out;
  • If you have a problem with your trainer, address it immediately;
  • Do not interrupt your trainer when she is with a client. Wait until she is finished before approaching her; and,
  • Recognize that your trainer is there to guide you-but you still have to do the work. If you are confused about your progress, or lack thereof, schedule a meeting where you can talk about your concerns. Personal training can help you get closer to your goals, but it isn’t a magic bullet.
